• Hilgrove Creates Arts Workshops

    Free arts workshops run by and for Camden residents.

    Sculpture

    Are you looking for activities for your children aged 9-16 during the summer holidays? Then look no futher!

     

    Don’t throw away your used plastics, bring them to these workshops! Here, artist Maria Meade will teach your child how to turn your waste into wonderful sculptures. Book your child on to help protect the environment and become a budding sculptor!

     

    Suitable for children and young people aged 9 to 16.

     

    This is designed so you need to attend all 4 workshops which take place at Belsize Community Library, Antrim Grove, Belsize Park, London NW3 4XP on:

    • 1-3 pm on Saturday 7 August

    • 1-3 pm on Saturday 14 August

    • 1-3 pm on Saturday 21 August

    • 1-3 pm on Saturday 4 September

    Film-making

    BIFA-award-winning documentary filmmaker Carol Salter is running four workshops on the basics of film-making. These workshops will cover camera techniques and storytelling, and will culminate in a group film!

     

    Suitable for adults and young people aged 16+.

     

    This is designed so you need to attend all 4 workshops. The

    first session will take place online on:

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Monday 9  August

    The remaining 3 sessions will happen outside, where participants will be able to practice their filming skills. Times, dates and location will be agreed by the group. Once you sign up you will be sent the log-in details for the first session.

     

    Script-writing

    Ever wanted to write a film or a play? These fun, interactive workshops will help you unlock your story and take your first steps towards turning your dream into reality.

     

    Suitable for adults and young people aged 16+.

     

    This is designed so you need to attend all 4 workshops which all take place at Bray TRA room, Bray Tower, Adelaide Road, London, NW3 3JU on:

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Tuesday 17 August

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Tuesday 24 August

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Tuesday 31 August

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Tuesday 7 September

    Painting

    How do you fill an empty canvas? These four workshops will focus on doing that through abstract acrylic painting. Attendees will learn about abstract painting techniques, colours and composition and get a chance to create their own! No previous experience necessary.

     

    Suitable for adults and young people aged 16+.

     

    This is designed so you need to attend all 4 workshops which all take place at Belsize Community Library, Antrim Grove, Belsize Park, London NW3 4XP on:

    • 2-4pm on Sunday 8 August
    • 2-4pm on Sunday 15 August
    • 2-4pm on Sunday 22 August
    • 2-4pm on Sunday 5 September

    Theatre Performance

    Do you enjoy being on stage or behind the scenes? Then these are the workshops for you! This series will teach you the basics of theatre performance, production, and behind-the-scenes skills, culminating in a performance.

     

    Suitable for adults and young people aged 16+.

     

    This is designed so you need to attend all 4 workshops which will all take place at Belsize Community Library, Antrim Grove, Belsize Park, London NW3 4XP on:

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Thursday 12 August

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Thursday 19 August

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Thursday 26 August

    • 6.30 - 8.30pm on Thursday 9 September

    Music Production

    Are you looking for activities for your children? Then look no futher!

     

    In these workshops, your child will learn the basics of music production: how to write a song, use recording equipment, and how to work with music software to make a track. The workshops will end with the opportunity to perform the finished song in front of an audience!

     

    Suitable for children and young people aged 9 to 16.

     

    This is designed so you need to attend all 4 workshops. The first workshop will take place at Belsize Community Library and the last three will take place at ARC Music Studio on Rowley Way.

     

    Please note the dates for this are not yet set. The 4 workshops are likely to be the first 2 weekends in September 2021 either in the mornings or afternoons. (The dates will be confirmed by Wednesday 4th August).
